About PrimeFilter

PrimeFilter is a free tool for finding something to watch. It queries The Movie Database (TMDB) to let you filter movies and TV shows by language, genre, cast, streaming service, rating, and sort order, so you can narrow down a huge catalog to just the titles that match what you're actually in the mood for.

Creating a free account adds a personal watchlist, shared watchlists you can build with friends or family, and a comments section on each title so you can leave notes for yourself or the people you share a list with.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the data come from?

All movie and TV data — titles, cast, streaming availability, and ratings — comes from TMDB.

TMDB

This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.

Do I need an account?

No. Searching and filtering work without signing in. An account is only needed for watchlists and comments.

Is my data shared with anyone?

Shared watchlists are visible only to the members you invite. Nothing you add is shared publicly or sold.

Does PrimeFilter use cookies?

Yes, a small amount. If you sign in, a userId cookie remembers your account between visits, and your watchlist login is kept in your browser's local storage so you don't have to sign in every time. PrimeFilter also uses Google Analytics, which sets a few cookies to help us understand overall site traffic. No personal data is sold or shared with advertisers.

Does it cost anything?

PrimeFilter is free and ad-free.
